Carolyn W. Luther is senior vice president and chief information officer for Independence Blue Cross, where she is responsible for supporting and implementing application systems along with technology services for all managed care and traditional lines of business. She manages hardware and software purchases, voice and data communications technology, strategic planning, and executive technology support.
Luther has more than 25 years experience in information services. Since joining Independence Blue Cross (IBC) in 1990, she has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility within the Information Services Division, including senior vice president of Information Services and vice president of Application Systems. Prior to her tenure at IBC, Luther served as director of application development at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Luther is an officer of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) IT Roundtable. In addition, Luther participates in the BCBSA CIO Cooperative and the BCBSA Blue Health Intelligence CIO Workgroup. She also sits on several boards, including the LiquidHub Advisory Board, the United Way IT Advisory Board, and the Villanova School of Business CIO Advisory Board. |
