BIOGRAPHICAL PROFILE

Robert Reid is a primary care physician, preventive medicine physician, and an investigator at the Group Health Research Institute. Dr. Reid's research expertise revolves around organization, design, and financing to promote uptake of efficient, patient-centered evidence based care. His methods expertise revolves around the use of quasi-experimental study designs in assessing practice and payment innovations in everyday care settings. Since 2007, Dr. Reid has led the development and evaluation of a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) prototype at Group Health Cooperative and is currently evaluating its spread across Group Health's entire health care delivery system. Dr. Reid has also been the key architect for the development of the question set and algorithms for Group Heath’s electronic health risk assessment.

Dr. Reid obtained his medical degree at the University of Alberta. He also completed an MPH in epidemiology, a medical residency in public health, and a PhD in health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.
